Latvia is claimed to be the first place in the world, where Christmas tree was decorated many
hundreds of years ago. Also there is one special place in Latvia, where you can see very rare
species of cows- they blue and are called „The Latvian Blue Ones”.
Official language is Latvian, but most of youngsters do understand English. Even if we are in theEU, national currency is Lats (LVL).
Capital city is called Riga and it is situated
on both sides of biggest Latvian river –
Daugava. It is not very big, but nice and
quite peacful city comparing to other
capitals. You will see a lot of art noveau
and other architecture from older times
